Tucked away in our subconscious is an idyllic vision. We see ourselves on a long trip that spans the continent. We are traveling by train. Out the windows we drink in the passing scene of cars on nearby highways, of children waving at a crossing, of cattle grazing on a distant hillside of smoke pouring from a power plant, of row upon row of corn and wheat, of flatlands and valleys, of mountains and rolling hillsides, of city skylines & village halls.

"Relish the moment" is a good motto, especially when coupled with Psalm 118:24: "This is the day which the Lord hath mad; we will rejoice and be glad in it." It isn't the burdens of today that drive men mad. It is the regrets over yesterday and the fear of tomorrow. Regret and fear are twin thieves who rob us of today.

So stop pacing the aisles & counting the miles. Instead, climb more mountains, eat more ice cream, go barefoot more often, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more, cry less.

At the age of 7, his family was forced out of their home. He had to work to support them.

At age 9, his mother died.

Read it out loud every day, with real feeling, for just 20 days.

Before day 20, you will find very powerful changes occurring in your life.

STUPID PEOPLE ARE THOSE WHO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THIS POWER.

SMART PEOPLE ARE THOSE WHO USE IT IMMEDIATELY AND REPEATEDLY:

Nothing can restrain the power of current action.

It really does have to be in writing.
Once we have a clear idea of where we want to go, we can then create a detailed map for getting there.

This should grab your attention. It applies to every industry. It rarely changes by more than a tiny amount: 80% of all sales are consistently produced by 20% of the sales force.

Only a fool would attribute this to luck or coincidence. Those who are a part of that 20% do NOT get there by luck, or looks, or talent, or wealthy parents. These men & women get there by duplicating that which works. Pretty simple, yes? Once you learn how to become a part of the top 20%, you will never, ever worry about money again. I know. You can learn to understand this from personal experience in just a matter of days.

Did you know that when we see a typical iceberg, and remark on how HUGE it is we are only seeing 'just the tip of the iceberg.?' Well, it's true. generally, 90% of an iceberg is actually below the water.

It's the same with the human brain. Roughly 10% of our thought-processing occurs within the conscious part of our mind. The other 90% or so of our thoughts & decisions take place in our subconscious mind --'below the water,' so to speak. We call this subconscious area "The Robot," & what a robot it is!! It permanently records absolutely every sight, sound, smell, taste, & touch that we experience -- every single one -- from birth... to death. It is by far the most sophisticated computer we shall ever see. With each of life's experiences, a mental tape is created. These tapes are similar to videos. Each & every time we talk about, write about, or even just think about, a sight, smell, taste, touch, sound, or experience we've encountered, a new & duplicative tape is recorded within the robot. This enables us to visualize things that are not actually in front of us. When a particularly pleasant or unpleasant experience, such as a wedding or violent argument is remembered, & thought about repeatedly, the brain continues to create duplicate "tapes," reinforcing the event AND our feelings about the event.

This is precisely how the human brain creates a habit: it begins as a thread, working its way up to being a string, & then a cable. From birth to death, every single repetition of an act or a thought causes that area of your brain to physically grow; it is finitely measurable by high-speed MRI. Just as we have a mental "replay" ability, we have to use our "preplay" ability before we can handle even the simples task. I'm asking you to use the same exact methods for showering, or tying shoelaces in the direction of bigger things. You're now using this set of high-tech procedures 15,000 times per day!! Stop using these powers just for little stuff! I recently wrote AND directed AND was the voice of my first commercials for a big company. It's not my career, I just wanted to to do it once. Use this knowledge on purpose, in the next 10 minutes, to begin working on YOUR sweetest, best wishes and dreams. There is literally no known limit to the storage capacity of human memory, or the # of these customized mental videos we create. Take every single computer on this planet, right up to and including the gargantuan Cray III Supercomputers: ALL OF THEIR MEMORY AND COMPUTING SPACE... ALL ADDED UP TOGETHER... The most singular difference I can discern between smart and stupid people is the difference of taking action today.

Those who do, win. Those who will do it "as soon as....." are uniformly full of baloney. Fact is, the more formal education you have, the less likely you'll fit the profile first enunciated by Henry Ford: "I'm looking for a lot of people who have an infinite capacity for not knowing what can't be done." This is the precise method he used to get his engineers to build a V-8 engine, which they insisted for TWO YEARS could not be made. I know YOU know better, but your actions speak louder. People who live their dreams first describe them in detail. Capisce? We have 100 billion or so computing brain cells in our brain. I recently read that the atoms that enable this computing & memory ability are calculated in the area of 100 trillion trillion. No, that's not a typographical error. That's: 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 !!!! Whew! Let's imagine filling up your living room with bb pellets... and really "see" it in your mind... floor to ceiling, wall-to-wall. Think that's 100 trillion trillion? Not close. Now, fill up your neighbor's living room with those same size bb's. Wall-to-wall, floor to ceiling. See it in your mind's eye as you read these words. All those bb's!!! Think you're there yet? Not a chance.... you would have to continue filling living rooms at the rate of one full living room... each and every single second... for twenty thousand years.

The human mind is truly unlimited in its capacities & abilities. The human mind is capable of achieving virtually anything it is capable of conceiving. I think that's what our grandmothers meant when they told us that we can do anything we set our minds to. Maybe this is why Anna Mary Robertson, aging sufferer of acute arthritis, who could barely move her fingers, first picked up a paintbrush at the age of 76, and by her mid-90's, painted over 600 masterpiece paintings: Grandma Moses. Maybe that's why 92 or more percent of all American millionaires have been broke and bankrupted an average of more than 2 times each... yet have come back to develop wealth & success again.

Maybe that's why, of two men crippled by polio... one became a beggar in the streets,
& the other, President of the United States.

Understanding & appreciating just how much we have going for us helps us to accomplish uncommonly wonderful things. Belief in yourself can, & does, make all the difference. Emerson was right on the money when he wrote,

"What lies ahead of us & what lies behind us, pales in significance when compared to what lies... within us."

Having & using are not the same. Clam up & SHOW us what you can do.

Oh, by the way, did I mention that the other eleven... those eleven MOST distinguished American lawyers... could NOT have dropped out of law school.. because they never went to law school at all?

Excellence doesn't occur accidentally; you've got people wasting their degrees, and you've got folks who develop excellence without a degree at all. Hmm.

While grateful to Paul Aurandt for publishing this incredible list, I'm more grateful that I am now, at this minute, living in the richest era in the richest country in the history of humankind, where I have the opportunity to approach the next 60 minutes, with nothing but excellence on my mind; where you personally have a choice in the next 60 seconds about reaching out for a dream, whether it's bigger or smaller than the dream of 16-yr old Billy Jefferson, who shook hands with JFK, smiling with benign arrogance in his certainty that he too would be top dog. It took him 30 years from the time he changed his last name... for William Jefferson Clinton to reach his dream of becoming President of the United States in 1992, & again in 1996.

Aren't you tired of living so far below your potential?

Businessman, bum, publisher, housewife: Would you personally like for the world to consider you to be wise? So, you're too old to change spots, ey? Viola Krahn at 93, still winning diving championships. George Bernard Shaw didn't see his first play produced on Broadway until he was 94! A middle-aged cleaning woman picked, out of the garbage, a copy of Napoleon Hill's Think & Grow Rich. Shortly thereafter, clubs, casino, & TV were paying big bucks for the comedy of Phyllis Diller.

Another 70-yr old entertainer was rejected by a dozen Hollywood agents when he decided to reenter comedy 10 years after he'd retired. One young agent believed in him, & got 15% of nearly 12 million dollars earned by Jack Benny between the ages of 71 and 80.

I know one fellow that entered a whole entire new career field in his 60's, and by age 70 was elected President of the United States, and then got himself reelected again four years later!

Hilga Crooks climbed Mt. Everest for the first time at the age of 90, and has done it more than a half dozen times since!!

How you use this next minute will clearly tell us a great deal about the past year... & more, this next upcoming year of your life!! I say this because the way I spend my minutes is a snapshot of how I am spending my life. It applies to me, and it applies to you.

As you can see, I'm taking at least one step at this very minute towards my long-term goal of being a world-famous author. Can you afford to laugh at my dream, if I'm taking steps toward my dream, and you're not? As always, talk is cheap, because what I do, & what you do, speaks so loudly that we need not say a word: our actions are speaking for us. What I'd like to know now is: what are you doing with this next minute of your life? Are you willing to shut up, put your brain to work & get REAL results?

DO YOU EVEN KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS THAT YOU MOST WANT?

An airplane ws designed, apparently all wrong. Expert military designers immediately saw the plane couldn't possibly fly. Bureaucracy being what it is, they actually built it anyway! Today, there's no argument that the 'unflyable' C-130 has flown more missions & saved more lives than any other aircraft in history. Small daily steps, repeated 100x, lead to WINNING.

Some people think I'm harsh in stating that 90% of all Americans are complete losers who should contribute to resource conservation by conveniently walking off into the ocean. It's hard to argue: 90% of the people in this country are losers; NOT because they don't have more, rather,
because
they DO have more... & decide not to use it.

I'm sure you're not one of these people. You're living to your fullest potential, aren't you? I mean, YOU certainly wouldn't flush your life away day-by-day in hope of 'making it to payday,' would you? YOU'RE not the kind of person who watches TV two, three hours per day, are you? No, NO!! YOU are the kind of person who can state out loud exactly what it is that you want most, YOU are the kind of person who is willing to describe your dream in writing & take daily action, right?

Whether you want to learn to juggle, or type fast, or get along better with your spouse or your kids/parents/co-workers/boss, etc.; or maybe you want to learn a new language, or a new career, or double your income...
No matter what it is that you want, I unconditionally guarantee that in 100 days or less you will do one of two things:
A) Actually make your dream come true, or B) Make more progress towards it than you will if you DON'T create a plan and then take daily steps in that direction...

unconditionally guaranteed! The third choice is to continue being mediocre on a day-to-day basis as you've been for the past couple months, years, or decades. When do you wake up and start being who you really think you are, deep down? Bad enough you show the world that you're second-rate; how long will you continue showing it to yourself?

Use the shortcuts available to all of us: the world's top producers took entire lifetimes developing them through trial and error. If your way really worked, you'd be far better off! The only possible way you'll be remembered as a person with excellence... is to give a thousand individual minutes of excellence!! Harlan Sanders wrote down the names of 1009 people who, over a 4-yr period, turned him down, which is why he didn't open his first Kentucky Fried Chicken until the age of 69.

I can show you thousands of cases of people who, later in life, finally understood that excellence, success, & wealth are more a question of individual minutes than a question of good years or bad years. It's all about how we use our minutes. A pitifully unsuccessful paper cup salesman was 55 years old when he, Ray Kroc, set his sights & created McDonald's. Now, a new McD's opens every hour of the day, somewhere around the world. We already know that humans are capable of achieving anything that they can conceive.

Treat your life desires the the same as your emergencies!!

It's not what you're able to do; it's what you're willing to do..
